The CardioTocoGraph – an Invaluable Tool for Achieving the Millennium Development Goals



In line with the Millennium Development goals of reducing maternal and child mortality, two important tracings remains vital. These are the Partograph and the Cardiotocograph (CTG).

Partograph is limited to the process of labour, most importantly in the active phase: however cardiotocograph becomes useful once the fetus reaches the age of viability until the safe delivery of the baby. Hence it is important for all health workers to understand the CTG, and to be able to read and interpret it correctly.
