#TheBibleAndEconomy - Did Jesus set an example of poverty for believers to follow? There is a traditional belief that Jesus led a poverty-stricken, barely-surviving lifestyle. But the Bible was filled with examples that Jesus lived a pretty comfortable life. His parents could afford an Inn. Jesus lived in a house with them. He was visited by Wise Men were bringing gifts to a king in their mind rather than gifts for a baby shower. He was always invited to big banquets where he took chief seats. He taught on giving and paying tax, by example. His ministry was funded by committed followers. He hired a treasurer. He wore a custom-mad garment that was seamless from top to bottom!! That doesn't sound like a poverty-stricken man.
