The Church wants us to believe that we can always come and find solace, unconditional love, acceptance, forgiveness and restoration but when the situation comes, people get to learn the bitter truth:
that just like the Priest and Levite in the story of The Good Samaritan, they care only to protect their ‘holiness’, so turn the blind eye, and go in the opposite direction, while they leave the wounded man to wallow in pain and bleed some more.
Now, there’s a difference between forgiving and condoning wrongdoings, because yeah, the Church not only provides Spiritual guidances, it also presents a moral compass.
However, there are times we must get down from the high horse and heal the wounds, like the Good Samaritan.
